Their challenge
Three Dutch teams participated in the World Solar Challenge 2013 -and with good results. Nuon Solar Team won the international championship, finishing 1st with their Nuna7. Solar Team Twente also made it to the stage after their Red-Engine earned 3rd place in the Challenger Class.
Both cars were supplied with MG’s high-end MPPT’s, performing with a tracking-efficiency of 99% and a minimum conversion-efficiency of 98%. Other major advantages of this product are an ultra-fast tracking algorithm and low start-up power requirements.
Solar Team Eindhoven participated in the Cruiser Class (for cars with a passenger on board). Their solar car Stella was powered by MG’s lithium-ion batteries.
We are pleased to have made high-end technical contributions to all the Dutch solar car teams.
